Pret specs new fabrication for 390 stores as part of five-point allergen plan

Pret A Manger is rolling out a series of new fabricated equipment items across almost 400 stores to support a new five-point plan around allergen information.

The chain is trying to ensure customers have easy access to all allergen information in store and has tasked long-term supply partner R H Hall with creating a solution to assist with rolling out the strategy across all UK stores.

RH Hall Fabrications’ factory and bespoke solutions manager, Adam Hall, worked with Pret to create new product designs to meet their requirements.

These new concepts included adapted designs for back-of-house equipment already supplied by R H Hall, including a label printer shelf for preparation tables and a wall bracket for use in the hot chef area.

RH Hall’s national account, bespoke solutions and fabrications teams worked to provide Pret with a full design and quotation, before producing working samples for approval.

The designs were optimised to ensure maximum production efficiency and minimum lead times, while maintaining the specifications and high standards required by Pret.

Following approval from Pret, the new units entered production, accompanied by additional standard items built by the fabrications team – including recipe card holders and easy-to-fit add-on electrical sockets.

Full roll-out to 390 new and existing stores is now in progress.
