Coffee chain Pret A Manger is preparing to roll out its Express coffee machines at 50 new locations by the end of this year.
The food-to-go chain currently runs 40 of the coffee machines around the UK, located in petrol stations and other shops, with the company announcing plans to expand the operation by the end of 2022, MCA reports.
The company announced a partnership with another JAB Holdings brand, JDE Peer’s, last year to enter the premium self-serve coffee market, installing machines at three sites in Glasgow and Essex earlier this year.
The coffee brand currently operates more than 420 sites across the country.
Its Coffee Subscription service has grown significantly since launching in the UK in 2020, with the chain seeing more than one million sales per year in 2022 across its portfolio in the country.
Pret also announced plans last year to double the size of its business within the next five years, and aimed to hire at least 3,000 team members and baristas by the end of 2023.
Competitor Costa Coffee already operates more than 12,000 self-serve coffee units across the country.
