Punch Taverns makes beeline for suppliers following change in strategy

Punch Taverns has invited dozens of suppliers into its offices to receive a firsthand account of the changes made to the business since its takeover last year.

Both old and new suppliers that are playing a part in the pub group’s attempts to transform its operation got to meet Punch representatives from the company and network with others in the sector.

CEO Clive Chesser said: “Following the change in ownership and leadership of Punch last year there has been an incredible effort to enhance and build relationships with long-established suppliers and seek out new ones to enable us to grow and move forward, aligned to our strategy.

“Our suppliers provide all the best products and services the consumer demands. From small independents to large multi-nationals, our suppliers cover everything for running the best community pubs. By inviting our suppliers to join us, they were able to really understand what we are trying to achieve and can work with us to do that.”

Over 150 individuals attended the day, including F&B suppliers and providers of sundries used throughout its business.

“Hosting events like this is a fantastic opportunity to share our vision as we all strive to provide the best support for our Publicans and create epic community pubs,” added Chesser.
