Creating a greener hospitality industry is a topic close to Ramco’s heart – and that’s the reason the surplus equipment specialist is sponsoring the Operator of the Year for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability category at the 2019 FEJ Awards.
With pressure on businesses to act as responsibly as possible when it comes to sustainability, the focus on environmentally-friendly actions and behaviour within catering providers has never been greater.
The accolade that Ramco is sponsoring therefore pays tribute to the operators that are working hard to make their kitchens and operations greener through the right practices, equipment and standards.
Paul Fieldhouse, business development director at Ramco, said: “The FEJ Awards will be the first foodservice industry awards that Ramco has sponsored. We believe it’s the right time and place to support the sector in this way and it further strengthens our commitment to developing our business with operators. As someone once said, ‘everyone is leader to someone’ and the awards bring recognition to the leadership shown by organisations large and small in our amazing foodservice industry.”
Ramco has been handling surplus equipment since 1992 and offers a bespoke service to achieve the financial, asset management and decommissioning expectations of its clients. Its ability to make a quick decision and react rapidly when the need arises is backed up by having a substantial storage capacity and a team experienced in providing clearance solutions for the industry.
The company launched Ramco Food Services just over two years ago and Mr Fieldhouse says it is delighted with the reception it has received from distributors, designers, operators and contract caterers alike.
“All have welcomed our UK-wide service that tackles unnecessary catering equipment waste, with our compliant, low environmental impact and potentially rewarding share of the cash proceeds!”
The FEJ Awards takes place at the Birmingham Metropole on Tuesday 4 June, the first evening of the Commercial Kitchen show.
Ramco will be showcasing its full range of services at the show, including how suppliers and operators can both purchase and environmentally dispose of second-hand kitchen equipment. “Naturally we want to engage with as many of our existing and prospective clients as possible,” said Mr Fieldhouse.
