Real estate investor Aprirose has shelled out £130m for 45 Spirit Pub Company sites owned by property company British Land.

The portfolio comprises pubs geographically located across the UK, including Brighton, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Nottingham and Twickenham, with the majority in the North West and South East.

The move will bring the total number of leased and managed pubs that Aprirose owns and runs to almost 200 once the deal is complete.

Manish Gudka, CEO of Aprirose, said the company has increased its engagement with the pub industry considerably during recent years.

“The acquisition of the 45 British Land pub portfolio is a sign of our growing commitment to this exciting sector,” he said. “Our investment into the Spirit Pub Company branded portfolio is a testament to our experience and strong track record in this field.

“Against the backdrop of the Brexit uncertainty, we are finding unique opportunities to acquire interesting assets. The F&B sector is particularly appealing as we seek to build our own bespoke offering.”
