Restaurant chain ETM Group adds to senior chef team

London restaurant operator ETM Group has strengthened its senior kitchen team with the appointment of Nick Ward as head chef.

He will work at the chain’s Ealing Park Tavern in South Ealing, which is one of 13 properties that ETM operates in the capital.

Having worked in a number of London’s Michelin-starred restaurants under some of the UK’s most respected chefs, including Marcus Wareing and Bjorn van der Horst, Ward brings considerable experience to the role.

Nick has worked at some of the most well-established restaurants in London and we are confident he will lead the team at Ealing Park Tavern in an exciting new direction.”

Ealing Park Tavern is a historic coaching inn comprising a restaurant, bar and on-site brewery. The West London gastropub’s menu combines traditional classics with delicious seasonal house specials, serving lunch and dinner daily as well as weekend brunch and Sunday lunch.

Beginning his career as a commis chef in Hertfordshire, Ward moved to London in 2000 where he was offered a job in the kitchen of Michelin-starred Petrus under head chef Marcus Wareing.

After three years he left to become sous chef at the Strand’s iconic Savoy Grill before returning to Petrus three years later at the time the restaurant was awarded two Michelin stars.

An opportunity arose at La Noisette in Chelsea and Ward quickly advanced through the ranks to senior sous chef under Bjorn van der Horst, later moving with him to the City’s Eastside Inn where he was appointed head chef.

After two years of running the kitchen at a high level, he was made head chef at the Michelin-starred Wild Honey in Mayfair, before re-joining Marcus Wareing at The Gilbert Scott, where he has spent the past four years.

Ealing Park Tavern is ETM Group’s 13th opening in London. Other venues include The Gun, Docklands, The Jugged Hare in the City, One Canada Square in Canary Wharf and The Botanist on Sloane Square and the City.
