‘Screwfix for chefs’ – Nisbets expands multi-channel format for catering equipment

Coventry trade counter 1

Nisbets has opened a trade counter in Coventry as it hedges its bets on finding success from a retail model favoured by the likes of Screwfix and Argos.

The new store is the third of its kind that Nisbets has launched in the last three months and promises to offer a fast and easy order and collect system similar to the household goods and DIY retailers.

It says chefs will be able to get the catering equipment they need, whenever they need it, seven days a week.

The Coventry store will employ six staff with a mix of skills from both the retail and hospitality sectors.

It will stock around 3,500 products, although customers will be able to order from more than 30,000 online.

Robin White, managing director at Nisbets UK, said. “We are delighted to be opening our third trade counter in Coventry. We’re very excited about supporting the hospitality and catering trade in the local area after what has been a turbulent year for the industry.

“Our team look forward to getting to know local business owners and chefs from around this wonderful city and supporting them with our industry-leading product range and fantastic customer service.”

Nisbets also operates trade counters in Plymouth and Swansea. Additionally, it runs a network of 28 physical retail stores.
