Signature Dining recruits former Caterplus executive to deliver new contracts

David Penlington, director

Care sector caterer Signature Dining has brought in a new company director as it looks to build on the £1.4m worth of contracts it has bagged since the start of the year.

David Penlington will work alongside company founder Paul Robottom in growing the business. The pair previously worked together for eight years at contract caterer Caterplus.

“At Signature Dining our vision is to enhance the everyday lives of our customers, by offering a broad range of fresh, home style seasonal menus, cooked from scratch daily, prepared with passion and served with professional courtesy, by an empowered team in a fun environment,” said Robottom.

‘’David adds significant strength and depth to our senior team, bringing a wealth of sales and operational expertise, combined with nurturing excellent client relationships and a passion for ensuring that promises are exceeded.”

Robottom and Penlington have more than 50 years combined experience in nurturing a holistic view to food and service delivery.

Launched earlier this year as exclusively revealed by FEJ, Signature Dining claims to have won five contracts in the last seven months with a combined annual turnover of over £1.4m.

Robottom commented: “The last 18 months has seen a significant shift in the care catering arena with a number of key independent players being acquired by major PLCs.  This has opened a significant gap for the smaller independent company that has the capability and commitment to provide a truly personal and attentive service.”

Signature Dining is part of Genuine Dining Group.
