Hoshizaki UK is preparing for a leadership change towards the end of this year, with sales and chain accounts director Simon Frost set to take over from current managing director Steve Loughton.
Mr Loughton is officially retiring from the industry following some 45 years of service. He joined Hoshizaki at the beginning of last year, presiding over a key chapter in its history as the company fully integrated the Gram brand into its operations.
During his four-and-a-half decades in the catering equipment field, he has worked for brands such as Garland, Welbilt, Kitchen Brains, Manitowoc, Standex and Jestic.
He has also helped enhance the UK catering equipment industry through his work with trade association CESA.
Mr Loughton will officially retire from his role on the 1 October, with Mr Frost taking over with immediate effect.
Uwe Reimer, director of sales, EMEA, at Hoshizaki Europe, said: “We would like to thank Steve for his hard work over the last two years, in what has been an important transitional period for both the Hoshizaki and Gram brands, as well as Hoshizaki Europe as a whole. We would like to wish Steve a very long and enjoyable retirement and all the best for the future.”
Mr Frost will work closely with his predecessor in the coming months to ensure a seamless handover. He has 20 years’ experience in the industry with companies such as Falcon, Manitowoc and Wexiodisk.
Mr Reimer continued: “We are delighted to have the perfect successor to Steve already part of the exisitng Hoshizaki UK team. I am confident that Simon will build on the foundations that Steve has already laid and would like to congratulate him on his appointment as director of UK and Ireland, Hoshizaki.”
