The business that supplies the Taylor Company range of soft serve ice cream machines to the UK market has been named by the brand as its top global distributor of the year – for the tenth year running!
Taylor UK, which is owned by HTG Trading – also the company that distributes Scotsman ice machines in the UK – maintained its impressive record following the manufacturer’s international distributor conference in Miami.
Simon Aspin, managing director of HTG, which owns Taylor UK, and Pete Gray, managing director of Taylor UK, were in the US to collect the award, which the business has now picked up every year since 2008.
“Taylor UK is a Grade A distributor,” said Melissa McCormick, senior vice president – global sales at Taylor Company. “Theirs is an outstanding achievement, reflecting their commitment to the Taylor brand’s core values, including support, after-sales, service, response and customer care.”
The award comes on the back of Taylor UK’s best ever sales performance for soft serve ice cream machines in its 44-year history, according to the company.
“2018 was a great year for us, with the UK tourism industry doing so well,” said Mr Gray. “Our customers are looking for ways to increase business, and a Taylor ice cream machine can generate margins in excess of 80% – with the summer’s warm weather, they’ve seen profits soar and an ROI in just a few months.”
He said the firm was planning to launch a brand new compact, counter top soft ice cream machine with some significant new features.
In the US the company has just launched the 736 countertop soft serve heat treatment freezer, which combines a smaller footprint with high volume throughput for foodservice operations that are high on demand, but low on space.
The company said the equipment meets the demands of busy dayparts because the rapid recovery speed allows for an output that is traditionally found in larger soft serve models.
Taylor UK is also the exclusive distributor of the Frigomat, Prática and Quality Fry ranges in the UK, and a preferred supplier of ISA and TurboChef equipment.
