Tim Hortons UK and Ireland CCO to step down

The chief commercial officer who helped drive the expansion of Canadian QSR chain Tim Hortons in the UK and Ireland has revealed he is stepping down from his role with the brand.

With more than 5,000 stores in North America, the coffee and donut chain’s CCO for the UK and Ireland, Kevin Hydes, has supported the rapid growth of the brand across the UK since it launched its first store in the country in Glasgow, Scotland, back in 2017.

In a LinkedIn post, Mr Hydes wrote: “After seven years, I have decided to hang up my coffee mug and bring to a close my journey at Tim Hortons.

“Having the opportunity to work with the leadership team and launch this incredible brand into to the UK has given me huge levels of satisfaction and amazing learning opportunities. I leave the business with some great memories and achievements – from the very first shop in Glasgow, to our launch in Northern Ireland, our memorable opening in London and everything in between.”

He praised the Tim Hortons team, past and present, and said he had “been truly inspired and humbled by the great people and partners” he has worked with over the years.

Mr Hydes added: “I look forward to watching the brand develop and grow – and I know that it will go onto great things here in the UK.”

He said he will be starting “a new exciting opportunity in the autumn”.

The experienced hospitality leader previously held positions at Costa Coffee including international and brand development director, UK retail marketing director and UK head of marketing, and also used to be marketing innovation manager at hospitality giant, Whitbread.
