Tom’s Kitchen’s new site marks UK expansion outside of London

Tom’s Kitchen has opened a new site in the Mailbox, Birmingham – its first UK site outside of the capital.

The brand, founded by Michelin starred chef Tom Aikens, launched its new 80 cover restaurant in the upmarket shopping complex, which hopes to be a destination for high-end dining as well as shopping.

Before the launch, shoppers seeking a luxury experience only had the option of the Harvey Nichols restaurant. The Mailbox includes chains such as Strada and Nandos.

The new restaurant has mirrored walls, two private dining rooms and a reservation desk area. The brand claims to offer “British comfort food classics in a relaxed and informal brasserie setting.”

Last year, Tom’s Kitchen’s Chelsea branch took order of a Synergy Grill SG900 model. Commenting on the grill, Aikens praised them for being fuel efficient and robust. He said: “They are easy to clean and operate, but most importantly will give you the highest amount of heat you will need to cook anything on.”
