A restaurant conceived by multi-Michelin starred Catalan chef Paco Pérez and backed by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has opted to base its kitchen around a top-of-the-range Charvet cooking suite.
Tast Cuina Catalana, a unique Catalan restaurant in Manchester, proved to be one of the most challenging installation projects that Charvet has ever been involved in as the kitchens are spread over three floors.
“You really get to appreciate the difference in build quality between Charvet and some other manufacturers when you help to haul our ranges up two flights of stairs. Then you understand just how solid, weighty and strongly built a Charvet range is!” said Ian Clow, UK sales director at Charvet.
“The customer wanted ranges with lots of power; much of the cooking is done on top using 7.5kW chrome Planchas, electric solid tops and induction hobs and fryers. These are further backed-up by our powerful rise and fall infrared salamanders.”
All three kitchens at TAST are open to view, creating a busy and attractive view for diners and promoting interaction between the chefs and customers.
The Charvet 800 Series stainless steel finish cookline is installed on the ground floor, where it is on full display to the public, while a range of cooking equipment is used on the second and third floors, where production, finishing and function catering takes place.
“We wanted the best for the best and for the customers to feel like they are in our own house,” explained TAST head chef Miquel Villacrosa. “Charvet is practical, looks amazing – you just need to see it. Charvet is also aesthetic and good looking. If you are going to have a kitchen, then its best that you have one the customer is going to enjoy.”
