VIDEO: Online catering equipment seller Caterkwik coordinates local NHS gift box effort

Online catering equipment provider Caterkwik has been busy setting up a charity support project for local NHS staff.

The Cumbria-based outfit started by erecting a marque – donated by PSR Marquee Hire – on Barrow Cricket Club, which is being used to store all donated stock before it is ready for packing into gift boxes.

The Caterkwik team has been coordinating local volunteers to pack boxes of essential and luxury for NHS staff working locally at Furness General Hospital.

“We wanted to offer our support NHS staff at FGH who are working tirelessly on the frontlines during the Covid-19 pandemic,” explained managing director Matthew Mayvers.

“We are doing this with the backing of Morcambe Bay Health Trust and of course trying to adhere to government guidelines.”

At the start of this week, the company had so far packed 350 gift boxes and raised more than £3,000 for the Bay Hospitals Charity.
