Water filter supplier promises “considerable” savings from new design

IX series filters

European Water Care has unveiled a new family of filters that provides operators with an eco-friendly solution for their kitchens.

The iX series of ion exchange cartridge water filters for coffee and vending machines introduces a fully recyclable and easily replaced internal filter refill system. According to EWC, it offers users a truly cost-saving and eco-friendly alternative to discarding existing filters of this type.

Initially available in two sizes giving 1,600 or 3,000 litres at 180 ppm, and with flow rates from 0.5 to 15 lpm at 2 to 6 bar, the high efficiency filters have a by-pass blend for optimised flavour, aroma and crema.

The filters are encased in a re-usable glass-filled polypropylene housing with 3/8in push-fit or adaptor to ½ or ¾ BSP, while the internal refillable filter contains ion exchange resin with carbon block for taste and odour control and is 100% recyclable.

Simple to install with wall bracket included, the unit’s quarter-turn head shuts off the water supply for easy maintenance. All parts are NSF-certified.

Harlow-based EWC insists that “considerable” cost savings can be gained from the offering as users only have to replace the high capacity refill insert instead of the whole unit.

IX is now available in several other application options such as Vend, Ice and new TAC media variants.
