WH Smith completes first ever Costa remodel project

Costa Coffeee, The Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital 1

Stationary retailer WH Smith has opened first ever fully licensed Costa outlet, at The Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.

The company employed Restaurant Design Associates to oversee the project and its team of designers worked with the company to enhance the existing ‘Proud to Serve Costa’ concept within the hospital into a fully licensed format.

The unit is operated under franchise by WH Smith.

The interior fit-out was based on Costa’s brand and specification with a modern and vibrant look and feel and state-of-the-art equipment.

Installation involved a complete remodel including the removal of equipment from the existing cafe.

The result is a fresh and contemporary space located in the hospital’s main entrance, ready to serve thousands of patients, staff and visitors.

Nick Bradley, director at RDA, said: “We were delighted to work with WH Smith and help them to bring their new Costa store to The Royal Blackburn, offering a fresh and welcoming look and feel for the hospital community.”
