Whitbread cranks up expansion of Cookhouse and Pub business in the UK

Cookhouse and Pub

Whitbread has announced two new Cookhouse and Pub openings in St Columb, Cornwall and Northwich, Cheshire.

This will bring Whitbread’s current portfolio to eight across the UK.

After a successful trial of the brand in Oldbury, Holystone, Kilmarnock and Ripley, both new destinations opened this month on former Brewer’s Fayre sites.

The 218-cover St Columb site and 230-cover Northwich sites have been developed by Yorkshire-based designers JMDA.

The new openings will include a bar area, with a range of flexible seating and solo-dining booths, feature tables and semi-private dining areas.

Sarah Tinsley, head of strategy and innovation at Whitbread Restaurants, said: “These sites represent fantastic opportunities for us to introduce this exciting new brand to the local market. We continue to invest in our estate and Cookhouse and Pub will further expand across our portfolio this year. The team are passionate about offering affordable, quality food in a relaxed and welcoming environment and we’re confident these latest summer openings will perform well.”
