Whitbread is set to launch its next Bar + Block Steakhouse following successful roll-outs in Wimbledon, Belfast and Bristol in 2019.
On 16 August, the new steak-focused all-day casual dining restaurant will open in Winnersh, Reading.
Bar + Block Winnersh will be a 418 sqm, 189 cover informal steakhouse serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with an emphasis on delivering “high quality steaks at high-street prices”.
The modern design is said to be inspired by the theatre of food and drink, and will feature a large bar with copper detailing and an open kitchen, complemented by reclaimed wood, utilising what are said to be high quality fabrics, comfy seating and warm lighting. Decorative finishing touches include the brand’s signature neon cow, alongside a number of contemporary artwork pieces.
Signature dishes include rotating steak specials from the Butcher’s Block, as well as the Tira De Ancho – a chargrilled 14oz spiral cut ribeye, marinated in garlic, parsley and chilli and served with chimichurri.
Bar + Block will also offer an extensive drinks range, with a focus on craft beers, specially curated wines and cocktails such as Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis and a Flamingo Punch – a blend of Jose Cuervo tequila, watermelon, fresh lime and cranberry.
