Yorkshire Building Society overhauls staff catering with £14.5m services contract

Yorkshire Building Society has handed a £14.5m facilities management contract to Mitie, which will include overhauling its catering offering.

The five-year deal spans 147 of the financial services provider’s UK sites and will see a tailored foodservice service, enhanced security operation and technology-enabled engineering services deployed.

Gather & Gather, Mitie’s catering arm, will revamp the current catering offering with the introduction of two new concepts – ‘lighter on the pocket’ and ‘healthy options’.

These ranges will reinvigorate onsite food for staff offering enjoyable healthy eating options which are also cost-friendly.

The Building Society will also benefit from the culinary expertise of The Gathered Table, which brings the best and brightest minds in food, technology and sustainability together to pioneer a radical new approach to workplace dining creating better-fed, happier and healthier people in the workplace.

Mitie was founded in 1987 and is one of the UK’s largest facilities management and professional services companies. It employs 49,000 people across the country, looking after a large, diverse, blue-chip customer base, from banks and retailers, to hospitals, schools and government offices.
