Zizzi opens four sites in five weeks and outlines plans to enter Ireland

High street restaurant group Zizzi has announced the further expansion of its estate with the opening of four new sites in the UK within a five-week period, as well as plans to enter Ireland in April.

The Italian chain opened its Broadway Bradford restaurant last month, seating 110-covers over 2,950 sq ft, closely followed by the launch of its 4,300sq ft, 164-cover Leeds Birstall branch at the start of February.

A third eatery opened earlier this month in Newport’s Friar’s Walk Shopping Centre seating 152 diners within its 3,700sq ft site.

Its fourth UK site opens today in Birmingham’s Brindley Place, providing 35 jobs for the local area and accommodating 188 covers across indoor and outdoor dining.

The group’s first Zizzi restaurant in Ireland will open its doors on 6th April. Located in a prime location in Dundrum Town in Dublin, the 2,800sq ft site will accommodate over 100 covers.

Steve Holmes, CEO of Azzurri Group, said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our estate significantly across the coming weeks, continuing a steady period of growth for Zizzi. The restaurants are all in fantastic locations and we’re excited to open the doors to a host of new visitors, allowing us to showcase the full Zizzi offering including our spring menu which launches on the 15 March.”

He added: “We are delighted with the performance of Zizzi; this is an exciting time for the brand, continuing its steady pace of rollout.”

The new openings will bring Zizzi’s total number of sites in the UK and Republic of Ireland to 143 with the brand planning to open a further 10 restaurants this year.
