The Alchemist cocktail and restaurant group is continuing with its expansion in the UK and overseas, while also continuing to innovate with its menu offering.
The bar and restaurant group is intending to launch its first location in Dubai this year, and there are also plans in the pipeline to open a second location in Berlin following the brand’s debut in the German capital in 2023, Simon Potts, CEO of The Alchemist, told hospitality newsletter Propel.
The Alchemist also revealed last year that it plans to open up to 10 restaurants over the following three years, after receiving a £15 million loan from digital bank, OakNorth.
OakNorth has provided the loan to support the rollout of the group’s new sites and refinance existing debt.
Founded in Manchester in 2010, The Alchemist operates 22 sites across the UK.
With sites in major UK cities, including several in London, three in Manchester, and three across Scotland, the brand has a strong coverage across the map in the country.
The group opened its new location in London’s Monument area back in February, featuring the UK’s first permanent Negroni bar, near Monument Station.
Guests can explore six Negroni variations and enjoy the Alchemist’s food and drinks menu offering at the central London restaurant and cocktail bar.
The Alchemist also planned to launch its new SS25 drinks menu at its UK venues last month, continuing its history of creativity and honing in on mindful drinking, experiential and immersive drinking, and ingredient-led storytelling.
The business’ reputation for mastering the “dark arts” and “molecular mixology” has won it numerous industry awards over the years.
