Bella Italia is to unveil four new sites in a flurry of February openings.
They signal the start of a busy four months for the Italian restaurant chain, which has 20 new openings scheduled between now and the end of May.
The first two February openings are on busy London suburb retail parks, at Colliers Wood, which opened last week; and at Orpington, which welcomed its first customers yesterday.
The others, at Glasgow’s Silverburn Shopping Centre and in High Street, Kingston-upon-Thames, are both former La Tasca sites. Bella owner Casual Dining Group (CDG) bought the La Tasca chain of Spanish-style tapas bars last summer.
The £915,000 Colliers Wood restaurant, in The Tandem Centre, has 180 covers across 4,400sq ft, and is described as ‘an excellent unit within a very busy and sought after location. Bella has agreed a 15-year lease with landlord Santander (CF Trustee) Limited.
At Orpington, the £750,000 restaurant is in the London suburb’s new retail and cinema scheme called The Walnuts, and covers 3,400sq ft, accommodating 124 diners. The lease agreed with landlord Rockspring Property Investment Managers is 20 years.
CDG property director Phil Derbyshire said: “These four openings mark the beginning of a really busy four months for Bella, with sites set to open in some of the premier leisure retail schemes in the UK.”
February’s openings will bring the number of Bella restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales to 97, with recent new openings including Mansfield, Walsall, and Gloucester.
